The past summer we stayed in "La Petite Nice", an excellent guesthouse in the centre of the Provence. In this picture, you can see one of the children playing his french horn. Now I don't know a lot about musical instruments, but I have a strong feeling that mastering a horn is one hell of a task. About the pictures: they were shot with a Nikon 50mm at f1.4 with available light only. The sun was slowly setting so I had to use ISO 640 which is actually a little too much for the D70s, that's why I had to use a bit of noise reduction. Other than that, no processing at all...almost like old-school photography. :)

So, what's your opinion on "playing a french horn"?

They are nich shots, and the grain from the ISO does make them even better. I think that the boy is playing a french horn ;)

Great shots. I especially like the second one where we see more of him and the horn. That's quite an instrument to tackle. It might as well be a tuba.

The light is tender.The boy is so serious. And the NR gives a bit of softness for warm atmosphere.
